THE LOCATION: I have a harder time than most letting go of my summer swag. So here I am, in the swing of fall, whipping out a sleeveless turtle neck blouse and thanking myself for that stint of weightlifting (aka: schlepping my luggage all over the eastern seaboard this summer).
THE LOOK: This devastating black rope Celtic knot necklace stirs all sorts of emotions in me. It screams fashion villain, like the “Evil Queen” from the Disney movie Snow White, of whom I was always more fondly of than Snow White herself as far as aesthetics are concerned. I mean, can you say dowdy? These interlace patterns have their origins in the artwork of the late Roman Empire, but I found this beauty on Lincoln Road in Miami, along with a designer bikini, a dozen oysters, and free sand in my shorts.
This glorious plum purple Matt & Nat handbag is a piece I found in Montreal after my foliage trip through the Adirondacks. This statement bag was incomplete without a statement wallet, and whenever in doubt, I opt for mustard yellow. Since 2007, Matt & Nat has been committed to using linings only made out of 100% recycled plastic bottles. They have also recently introduced recycled bicycle tires to their collections. While their goods are elementally recycled, they are mostly just love at first sight.
