THE LOCATION: Halloween in the District. A day for made up scary things. Unless you find yourself in a corner surrounded by cheap Disney princesses being hit on by an Ebola doctor.
THE LOOK: New Yorkers have the luxury of being themselves out in public, no questions asked. This makes me think the movie “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” was filmed in the wrong location. Halloween presents a perfect chance for a DC transplant like myself to premier this kind of pant, and go the extra mile and wear it to work. Paired with a Zara zip pocket blazer and chunky Steven Madden sandals this look mimics, as my bestie told me, an Afrikanese princess. The skeleton-like Thai shell earring I selected was found in Montreal last year at a Buddhist shop in the center of the city. If you love this look but don’t have time to travel to New York and Montreal to find the style statement pieces, fear not. I’ve included some frighteningly similar pieces below for your retail comfort.
