THE LOCATION: As the summer sun sets I can’t help but take advantage of Day Trips from DC. In my last post I took you to Annapolis. Today I am taking you with me to Chesapeake Beach. Less than an hour away from DC, you can find yourself sunbathing upon the sands, playing volley ball, and restaurant hopping till it’s time to nap in a hammock. This quiet beach town is the perfect solution for an office and politics packed week. It is just a lovely coincidence that most day trips from DC involve being by the water and eating plenty of crab cakes.
THE LOOK: Stepping outside of my row house in Washington, DC, I have to be dressed city-to-beach appropriate. You won’t find me walking the streets in a bikini top, this isn’t spring break. A netted tie-up shirt is perfect for finding one’s way out of the city with the top down. The simple accessories and quintessential beach shorts are great for all day wear. My whimsical Ciao Bella bag is perfect for getting me into “escape mode” while I throw on Gucci shades and leave the makeup at home.
